Guyana's Parliament passes life imprisonment law for piracy, hijacking

GEORGETOWN, Guyana: The Guyana parliament has passed the highly anticipated Piracy and Hijacking Bill which will allow for harsher penalties for pirates. The Bill, which was piloted by Home Affairs Minister Clement Rohee, was tabled last month and immediately withdrawn after he had expressed his dissatisfaction.
