Dominican students inducted into Alpha Chi
Six Dominican students at Midwestern State University were recognized for their outstanding scholarly achievements and received induction into Alpha Chi, the honor society for underclassmen. The Dominican students were among the 60 inductees from the entire university. A total of 21 Caribbean Students were inducted.
The inductees, in the ceremony concluding the fall semester, were Deborah Anthony, Carissa Georges, Nadine Prevost, Gerard Matthew, Anika Royer, and Dinah St. Jean. All of these students are scheduled to graduate on or before August 2009.
Two more Dominican students will enroll at Midwestern this spring with an additional fifteen places reserved for Dominicans next August.
Vice President, Dr. Robert Clark, commended the Caribbean students for comprising 35% of the honor inductees.
“It is becoming a cliché here when we compliment Caribbean students for their achievements,” said Clark. “They are only 4% of the university but always the most prominent groups among the honorees.”
