PM Skeritt steals the spotlight with vintage performance
The 2007 National Cultural Gala burst into life at just before 7pm at the new Chinese-funded Windsor Park Stadium
on Sunday when Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, draped in full national wear, sauntered on stage along with members of the Vielle Case Cultural Group and stole the spotlight with a vintage performance.

As thousands watched in admiration at the Prime Minister’s deftness of feet and poise and overall stage presence, others scarcely noticed the dancing skills of Catholic Priest, Father Herman Sharplis and other members of the Vielle Case Cultural Group.
Pandemonium ensued when the Prime Minister returned on stage to wave goodbye to the thousands who seemed mesmerised by what they had just seen.
The National Cultural Gala is the climax of the independence activities that brings together the winners of the various competitions in Quadrille, Bamboo Flute, Bele, Kokoy Tory, Creative Dance, Drumming, String Band, Kweyol Song, Mouth Organ, Kont and more.
