Sensational Dominican gospel artist Lois Commodore

After several years in the making, sensational gospel artist, Dominican-born Lois commodore has released her debut album titled “Hold Me”. Scheduled to be officially released in the US on August 5th, Hold Me delivers a smooth soulful blend of worship, contemporary gospel, jazz, pop and Hip Hop infused with infectious blends of Caribbean rhythms.

This masterpiece is already receiving rave reviews from musicians, fellow artists and critics alike. Music producer Herbie Jack said the CD "epitomizes music excellence, ear-pleasing background vocal harmonies, and amazing lead vocal lines." Noting that "the world was in for a treat" the Atlanta-based producer added, "above all the songs glorify God and lift up our Lord Jesus Christ."

Released under Commodore's own imprint, LoveWord, Hold Me was produced by Pierre Huberson and recorded at Axiom Recording Studio in Boston. The song More Than Worthy was produced by Herbie Jack.

The internationally known singer and minister who is being referred to as the “Golden voice” said “Hold Me” was born out of her personal experiences and intimate relationship with God. “These songs have helped me to get through times of great difficulty by reminding me of how near God is in the tough times” she said. In a similar way, Minister Lois hopes that all who listen to her music will be encouraged, inspired and strengthened by it.

Consisting of 13 original songs, Lois partnered with friend and former Power Praise member Kevin Vetiac on this her debut outing. Both contributed equally to the project. Says Lois "I am amazed at how far we have come by God’s grace." Lois is scheduled to go on tour from September.

Although she started singing at a very early age, Lois felt the call of God on her life at the age of twelve. She started seriously ministering in 1990 as the lead singer of a group called The Zion Bound Singers out of the Canefield Gospel Mission church, Dominica. The group traveled across the island and Caribbean ministering in crusades and other events alongside internationally acclaimed evangelist Peter R. Augustine.

In 1995 Lois relocated to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue a career in medicine, a move which opened up for her even greater opportunities for ministry. Since moving to the US, Lois has matured into an internationally known singer and minister who is fast becoming an inspiration to other aspiring Caribbean artists.

“Hold Me” should be in stores in Dominica on August 27.
