Kennedy Pascal, driver of a blue Kia truck registration # TA732 died after attempting to unsuccessfully bale the truck which had developed problems with its the breaking system. Several eye-witness reports indicated that the truck, which was loaded with bananas, seemed to have lost its breaking system while shuttling down the hill before plunging into a concrete wall. The two passengers at the front of the truck and chauffer baled out as the truck sped out of control. The passenger in the box of the truck however did not have time to vacate the truck before the deadly impact. One woman speaking on the condition of anonymity said that “when the truck slammed into the wall, the box started flipping and breaking up.” Although the men were able to vacate the truck before impact, two of them sustained serious injuries while Pascal was killed being trapped and squeezed under the rear wheels of the truck. The injured men were treated at the Salisbury Clinic before being transferred to the Princess Margaret Hospital. The police are investigating the matter. A coroner’s inquest touching the death of Kennedy Pascal is to be conducted. This will be folowed by a post mortem.
