     Celebrated as the “Nature Island of the Caribbean” and one of the top 5 dive destinations in the world, Dominica is once again ranked among the best in the world in “green adventure.’ ShermansTravel.com, a guide to top travel deals and destinations, has ranked Dominica among the top 10-ecotourist hotspots in the world.

Posted on the MSNBC.com, the top-10 listing included Alaska, The Amazon, Antarctica, Blue Mountains (Australia), Borneo, Botswana, Costa Rica, Dominica, Galapagos Islands, and the Himalayas. While the Amazon and the Galapagos are identified as possessing substantial environmental pedigree, the article described Dominica as an up-and-comer that was “doing good work of turning itself into the [Caribbean’s] primo environmental destination.

     ShermanTravel.com ranks the island easily as their “top Caribbean eco pick.” Among other things, the article highlights Dominica’s green globe designation, pristine rainforests, boiling lakes, hot springs, waterfalls and some of the Caribbean’s best diving among the nature island’s green virtues and assets. “[Dominica’s] recent title of ‘Whale Watching Capital of the Caribbean” the article continues, “only adds heft to its vaunted eco status.”

     The Travel deals and destination guide also ranked Dominica among the top-10 whale-watching destinations in the world.  According to ShermansTravel.com, Dominica as an eco-friendly destination was launched to "a whole new level" following its recently earned new title as "whale watching Capital of the Caribbean,"
