Dominican top graduate in college of business
Dominican students earned high honors at Midwestern State University’s May commencement ceremonies. Marinette Joseph earned the President’s Medal of Excellence as well as Summa Cum Laude Honors as the top graduate in the College of Business. She earned a 4.0 GPA and a BBA in Accounting.
Samantha Julien earned magna cum laude honors and a bachelor of arts in international studies and Spanish. Three other students also earned cum laude honors. Narah Lian Francis earned a bachelor of science in biology; Royette Henderson earned a bachelor of business administration in international trade; and Wayne Toulon also earned a bachelor of business administration in Finance with an emphasis in French.
Five other Dominicans were among the 34 from the Caribbean and over 900 in the university who graduated at the ceremony. The other Dominican graduates are: Clement Vital, bachelor of science in education; Ronald Smith, bachelor of business administration in finance, Natasha Roberts, bachelor of science in nursing, and Easlyn Nadette Langford, bachelor of arts in international studies and political science.
“Caribbean students continue to distinguish themselves and are a significant part of the university’s recent recognition as the Top Value institution in the country,” Said Dr. Jesse Rogers, President. “We see the Caribbean program as a permanent part of the university’s infrastructure.”
Twenty additional Dominicans have been accepted to Midwestern State University this August, accounting for more than 800 recruits from the Caribbean in the history of the fourteen year old program.
