Ian Douglas left the State today to attend the 6th Meeting of the OECS Council of Tourism Ministers set to take place in Montserrat on Friday, November 23, 2007. At the one-day Meeting, Tourism Ministers from the OECS will discuss a wide range of issues including: * Adoption of the report of the 5th OECS Council of Tourism Ministers Meeting * Status report on the OECS Secretariat Tourism Work Programme * Report on OECS Study Tour to Martinique on “Cooperation in the Development of Tourism Statistics” * Report on the impact of the increase in regional airfares on visitor arrivals to OECS Member States * An OECS approach to engaging FCCA in discussions on the sale of OECS manufactured products and crafts on board FCCA cruise ships * Operational plan for the OECS-Puerto Rico Office * Agri-tourism linkages- An update by IICA * Joint marketing initiatives- Recommendations from Directors * Preliminary Review of factors Relevant to Establishment of a Regional Hospitality Arts Centre.
