Prominent Dominicans to be recognized in 2007 meritorious service honours

Sixteen (16) prominent individuals and organizations will be recognized for their outstanding contribution to public life at the Parade of Uniformed Groups on Saturday, 3rd November 2007.

The Sisserou Award of Honour will be bestowed on Mr. Francis Osborne Riviere for his contribution in the field of Public and Community Service; Father Charles Vermeulen in the field of Religion and Mr. Ignatius “Nasio” Fontaine in the field of Culture / Music.

The Meritorious Service Award will be bestowed on Mr. Ralph Stanley Fadelle - Agriculture & Public Service; Mr. Jerome Baron – Agriculture; Mr. Patrick Aaron - Culture/Music and Mr. John Irving McIntyre – Agriculture.

The following persons will receive the Service Medal of Honour : Mr. James Frederick – Community Service Mrs. Angela Myrtle Lawrence – Nursing Education Mrs. Ena Burton – Community Service Mrs. Marguerite Bascombe MBE – Youth Development Mr. Maurice Audaine – Agriculture, and Mrs. Joan Cools-Lartigue – Business/Entrepreneurship.

Long Service Medals of Honour will be conferred on: Mr. Algernon Charter – Superintendent of Prisons, Prison Services Division Sergeant Clement Green – Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, and Mrs. Helena Warrington – Education.

The Parade of Uniformed Groups will take place on Saturday, 3rd November 2007 starting at 4:00 p.m. at the Windsor Park National Stadium.
