Hundreds march in Red Sunday

Organizers of ‘Red Sunday” say the victory march and rally in the south coastal village of Pointe Michel lived up to all expectations. Hosted by the Abundant Life Fellowship and Deliverance Ministries (ALFDM), ‘Red Sunday’ was designed to galvanize the support of the evangelical community across Dominica for the work of the gospel in Pointe Michel and the church’s bid to “take back its community for Jesus.” Pointe Michel, say church leaders, has been held captive to religion, witchcraft and rife immorality for far too long.

Key activities of the day included a motorcade through the communities of Newtown and Loubiere, a victory march through the streets of the village and a rally at Poree Playing Field.

Before marching unto the village, with hands extended towards the mountains, the worshippers prayed, proclaiming victory over any spirits and curses of ‘solomon woule’ that might have been released on the village. Then rallied by the sound of the shofar, the throng of believers all adorned in red t-shirts, like a mighty army ready for battle, advanced on the village proclaiming “with the sword of the Lord and Gideon.” They sang, danced and prayed as they marched through the streets of the village, stopping at strategic locations along the way, to bind the spirits of religion, immorality and witchcraft that have held sway over the people.

Following the victory march, the faithful gathered at the Poree Playing Field for a prayer concert and worship. Prayers were issued for, among other things, the salvation of Pointe Michel, youth of the nation, families, spiritual revival and renewal, greater and deeper unity among evangelicals and Dominica’s healing and economic prosperity.

In his closing remarks, Chad Prince, pastor of the ALFDM said “although some may not fully understand the level of warfare waged here today or the spiritual significance of ‘Red Sunday,’ I am fully persuaded Pointe Michel will never be the same again; Pointe Michel will be saved.”
