Evangelical leader wants God to reign over Dominica

Chad Prince, Pastor of the Point Michelle and Goodwill Gospel Mission Churches and Vice President of the Dominica Association of Evangelical Churches (DAEC) has said he would like to see Dominicans allow God to reign in the nation in 2006. Reflecting on Dominica’s outlook for the New Year, Pastor Prince, who was also the mastermind behind the official dedication of the country to God said “when we dedicated the nation to the Lord he accepted it but I don’t know that we are allowing him to reign and that is not pleasing to him.” Dominica’s reputation as a God-fearing people was severely tested in 2005 by such issues as gay tourism, the meteoric rise in prostitution, human trafficking, youth promiscuity and gratuitous violence.

The evangelical leader also issued a call for Christians to make themselves available to represent the nation before God. Prince argues that the church has a pivotal role to play in establishing the reign of God in the earth. “We must let God reign in the church. And if he can reign in the church, he will reign in the nation.” Dominica was officially and publicly dedicated to God at the Botanic Garden in October 2003 at a service hosted by the DAEC.
